This project involved a six bedroom semi detached duplex owned by two clients from the same family. The intention was to create two contemporary homes that could function independently while remaining connected in form and execution.
The site sits on high topography with strong views, and the clients were clear that the architecture needed to appreciate this condition rather than work against it. Orientation, openness, and the relationship between the building and its surroundings were central to the brief.
Ventilation was a key priority. The clients wanted a home that relied on natural airflow across living and private spaces. In addition to the residential programme, the brief included a basement level, a fully automated home system, and a private gym.
